The Mosleys story began back in 1973 when founder Roger Mosley set up in business with just a tractor and a tanker, servicing the needs of farmers in the Thirsk area. Nearly forty years later Mosleys is still a family-run business with Roger’s son Simon now at the helm – but we’ve become much bigger!
From our state-of-the-art premises at Topcliffe we are now able to offer all kinds of waste management and disposal services to our ever-increasing customer base... but we aren’t just another landfill site. At Mosleys we recycle an amazing 95% of all the material we handle, so that almost everything passing through our systems can be re-used. Rather than adding to landfill waste that nobody wants, we are actually creating useful products that will help to conserve the planet’s resources.
As we continually strive to make our activities even more environmentally-friendly, Mosley’s plans for the near future include the installation of a hi-tech anaerobic digester. Processing waste using anaerobic digestion not only reduces the emission of harmful landfill gases, but also produces biogas, a renewable energy source which is a greener alternative to fossil fuels and can power generators to supply electricity to the National Grid.
Our commitment to sustainable policies extends far beyond our waste processing methods. As well as making our core activities as green as possible we are also passionate about environmental conservation. On our extensive site at Park Barn Farm we have created a welcoming haven for many species of birds, fish, waterfowl and other wildlife by establishing a series of beautiful lakes and planting over 15 acres of trees.
We are also keen to develop a good relationship with our local community. We aim to keep our activities as discreet as possible and are more than happy for interested parties to visit us so that we can educate them about modern waste management processes.
