Planning granted for renewable energy production

After months of consultation with NYCC, local planners and the local parish council our application has now been granted for an renewable electricity production plant.

The plant will process the existing waste stream of waste foods, animal by products and any other organic materials that are currently finding their way into landfill. A series of chambers allow these products to rot and a biological reaction occurs which results in the production of methane gas. This gas is then used to drive a motor to produce electricity. The process is known as Anaerobic Digestion.

The plant will process 20,000 tonnes of waste organics per annum and should provide enough green energy to fuel up to 1,000 homes.

The operation will be run and controlled by ORP LTD ( Organic Renewable Power) and is a joint venture between Mosleys and local businessman Kevin Doyle who owns the adjacent Alanbrooke Industrial Park.
